Sir Julius Vogel Awards

It’s that time of year – where New Zealand Speculative Fiction authors are looking to get their work nominated into the Sir Julius Vogel Awards.Sir-Julius-Vogel-Award

Last year I was lucky enough to be nominated for one of my short stories, Frankie and the Netball Clone, and it was a real surprise and a thrill to see a children’s short story winning this prestigous award.   So why not give your favourite NZ speculative author a thrill and nominate their work?

This year I have published a couple of things people may wish to nominate.
Dying for the Record, was the runner up for Arc/The Infinity Project.  It is an adult short story and can be found here.
Wizard’s Guide to Wellington, is a Children’s Book and is available in most Wellington Bookshops icluding online in, Children’s BookshopRona Gallery, & Unity, or why not ask your local library for a copy?
What is required:
  • Separate emails for each work to: sjv_awards@sffanz.org.nz  Subject: SJV Award Nomination.
  • A number of details – conveniently supplied below for easy copy and paste for each of my possible publications.  (And while you are at it why not use the template to nominate another favourite author, filmmaker?  More information about nominating and the awards is here.)
  •  your name and contact details – phone and/or email.
 Cheers,  Alicia)
